The Cochiti Health Department oversees the tribes Health Programs and includes the Community Health Representatives, Dental Clinic, and the Special Diabetes Program.

Mission

The mission of the Cochiti Pueblo Health Program is to lead efforts that prevent and reduce the effects of chronic diseases, such as diabetes and cancer by informing, educating, and empowering our community members so that they may live healthier lives.

CHR

The primary duties of our Community Health Representatives are making home visits, providing health screenings and education, transporting patients to and from doctor appointments, and holding vaccination clinics for pets. They are also trained in car seat installment and emergency management preparedness. General CHR hours are Monday thru Friday 8am – 5pm.

Dental

The Cochiti Dental Clinic is available to Cochiti Pueblo and surrounding pueblo’s patients. The clinic provides general dental services which include; exams, cleanings, fillings, and root canals. The clinic is open Tuesday and Thursday from 8am – 5pm with emergency walk-ins starting at 8am.

Special Diabetes Porogram/Hahn Center

The Hahn Center is our pueblo’s recreation center that provides physical activities and health and nutrition education to community members that help us to achieve our goals of reducing the prevalence of obesity and to prevent diabetes. The Hahn Center includes a regulation size basketball court and a fitness area with cardio vascular equipment and free weights. The Hahn Center is currently open Monday thru Friday from 8am – 5pm and is available to Cochiti tribal members at no cost. Surrounding communities are welcome to utilize the center for a fee.

About Cochiti Pueblo

Located 22 miles (35 km) southwest of Santa Fe, the community is a historic pueblo, which is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. The Cochiti pueblo people are a federally recognized tribe of Native Americans. The pueblo administers 53,779 acres (217.64 km2) of reservation land and possesses concurrent jurisdiction over the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument.
